Designed with the American working man in mind, the rugged Contractor EDC is built from heavy-duty .210" CPM-MagnaCut steel to stand up to all your toughest jobs and toughest environments. Our beefiest EDC to date, the Contractor features a wider blade and thicker handle than any of our standard EDCs to give you plenty to hold onto in a compact, easy to carry package.  

CPM-Magnacut stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion or staining, and thanks to our own specialty heat treat, Dawson blades stay sharp up to twice as long as other premium steels. 

Our American-made G10 handle says, "Aw, that's cute" to rain, snow, mud and just about anything else you can think of. We designed all our handles for secure, comfortable, hot-spot free use in all seasons and textured them for improved grip when the going gets wet.

The Contractor also features a completely redesigned GEN 2 Carbon Fiber Kydex sheath, featuring an improved, rattle free fit, horizontal, vertical, MOLLE and beltless carry options and more. Specially designed for compatibility with the included UltiClip 3.3 Slim for secure, inside-the-pocket carry on the jobsite or around the ranch.

Great EDC knife

Feels good in my hand. No rattle in the sheath. I like that is also includes an UltiClip for in-pocket carry as well as the belt option. It’s not really light but isn’t bad for weight. For in-pocket carry, a taco sheath would have been better. For my use, I wish it had bigger eyelets at the tip of the sheath (like by the handle) so it could be hung on my knife hanger pegs where I keep my EDCs. Overall a very good purchase.

Great little fixed blade

While the blade is thicker than I expected with this small a knife it feels great in hand and cut effortlessly through many materials. I do prefer a leather sheath but the kydex sheath supplied with the knife seems secure and versatile. I highly recommend this little gem of a knife.

Amazing knife

I picked up a Contractor and was blown away with the weight, quality and craftsmanship. The handle fits my hand perfectly and I can't imagine dropping it on accident. Once in my grip, it would become part of my hand.
If I needed to, I could punch this knife through a car door and probably not even scratch the knife.
Overall, this is a beautiful, functional piece of work. I love it.

Incredible knife

If you’ve been thinking about buying one of these, do it. The fit and finish is absolutely incredible, overbuilt yet totally functional. The photos on the website do not do this knife justice, you can tell Dawson has really got this done right down to the sheath. This was my first knife purchase from Dawson, and I can assure you it won’t be my last.

Another Great knife

The contractor is an amazing knife. Ergonomically, it's super comfortable in hand and I appreciate the thicker blade. The blade shape and aesthetic is awesome, and I really like the Arizona copper finish. The balance is a little different than the harvester or the smuggler as it carries more weight up front with the thicker blade, just something I'm getting used to. As an EDC, I've been cycling it through my rotation and it has cut some 1/2 nylon rope, cardboard, wood, dry and wet and a few other odds and ends. It's also the EDC I'd feel most comfortable batoning. Really glad I picked this up.
