I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

Lightweight with excellent balance, I'm eager to use it for chopping and clearing brush. The handle is a bit thin but fits my average hand well. I would have preferred slightly less sharp angles around the handle and at the jimping points, and an additional locking mechanism to keep the knife securely in the sheath.
Overall, a great success. One of my favorite knives. Well done, Dawson Knives!

Blade is great. Wasn’t sure I would even be interested in the sheath and planned to have a leather one made but i actually really like the pocket clip. Don’t even notice it in my pocket all day.

I have a lot of chef’s knives but now have my eye on your new offering.

Perfect size. The handle is comfortable while still being grippy and the blade is razor sharp out of the box (sharp enough to shave!). The sheath is a very rugged kydex material with strong positive retention. Thin blade profile but just enough meat in the back for the more gritty work while the jimping and guard noticeably prevent your hand from sliding while you put some force behind it. I have not gone hunting with this knife yet but out of the box this thing is not just style its practical. Like if a buck knife had a premium tier. With some more testing I think this will set a new standard for me on what makes a knife a knife. Buck, kabar, and leatherman may just not make it in my next hike or hunt.

I’ve had my shepherd knife for a few years and it’s attached to me all day. I use it everyday on my ranch. One of the kidex straps finally gave way.!I called wanting to order more replacement straps. They just sent me replacements for no charge, without question. Thank you Dawson knives and YAHUAH bless you!

The Steadfast is a great blade. It's my third Dawson - actually my sixth - but the other three were gifts to others. The Steadfast will join me in the field this upcoming hunting season. It's perfect for the whole job - instead of using a bigger knife, then a smaller knife for the detail work, the Steadfast should do the job. The knife as it is might be the best Dawson I have so far. But the other two are excellent. The fit to the hand has no equal - and it is super sharp out of the box. Could not be happier with this knife. A great father's day gift to myself!! I'll be back for more for sure.

Blade Balm | Food-Safe Blade and Handle Protectant

The blade and blade butter are both of high quality. I have heard the term " heirloom quality" mentioned when describing Dawson's products. I look forward to finding that out, but as of right now I am well pleased. The only thing I would say Dawson can greatly improve on would be their packaging. That is a small thing and easy to fix. Other than that I will most certainly buy again soon.

I love this knife! Solid build. Easily able to baton fire wood or felling a small tree. Unfortunately for me, it was a graduation gift to my son.

I purchased a Companion from Dawson mainly because I wanted to support them. To my amazement I have become a fixed blade believer. For over 50 some years I have always carried a folder thinking fixed blades are for hunters. No, no, old man! I started wearing my new Companion and can’t take it off. A fixed blade is so much easier to carry and much faster to deploy. And the sturdiness of a fixed blade is so much better than a folder. Old dogs can learn new tricks.
