The Wilderness is the pot of gold at the end of a steely rainbow - a do-it-all field and hunting knife often dreamed of but not often brought to life. Inspired by the legendary Greenriver hunting/skinning blade pattern, with a fine point for piercing and plenty of belly for peeling back hide. Crafted from .140" CPM-MagnaCut steel, it's tough, razor sharp, yet easy to carry when weight is at a premium.
It was a birthday gift for my husband.
He has many knives but this one he absolutely loves. The outcast has features that his other ones don’t.. I was a little worried about picking him out a knife, but he absolutely loves it. Thank you so much Dawson knives!!
This beautifully crafted Shepherd knife should serve me well AS I serve the TRUE Shepherd of my life, Jesus Christ…. whom this blade was named after. GOD BLESS the family of Dawson Knives.
The contractor is an amazing knife. Ergonomically, it's super comfortable in hand and I appreciate the thicker blade. The blade shape and aesthetic is awesome, and I really like the Arizona copper finish. The balance is a little different than the harvester or the smuggler as it carries more weight up front with the thicker blade, just something I'm getting used to. As an EDC, I've been cycling it through my rotation and it has cut some 1/2 nylon rope, cardboard, wood, dry and wet and a few other odds and ends. It's also the EDC I'd feel most comfortable batoning. Really glad I picked this up.
I loved it so much I just ordered 3 more! Only thing missing is volume discount 😁
I have now bought two Dawson knives and the quality is outstanding. The handle feels great in the hand. The fit to the blade is excellent. The balance and jimping is just right and the blades are sharp and strong. My only constructive feedback is compared to some other high end knife makers the sheaths, while well made seem to flare out widely causing them to take up a lot of pocket space and make the carry size of the blade a lot bigger. I'd like to see a minimalist sheath design which allows for better EDC.
